[mp3] Kingsley Flood announce "Colder Still," December release parties + winter tour

Now that the last bites of Monday's Eat Your Heart Out bash at the 'Dise have been full digested, event head-turners KINGSLEY FLOOD today announced the rest of their hearty musical menu. Over three nights at the intimate Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, the Floods will drop new EP Colder Still, the follow-up to 2010's critically-acclaimed and NPR-hyperventilation-causing debut record Dust Windows.

As we teased in our September Fall Preview, the new material (six tracks in all) was recorded at Q Division Studios with engineer Rafi Sofer (Mission of Burma, Juliana Hatfield) and at Converse Rubber Tracks in Brooklyn, cashing in the “Golden Record” the band won back in March at SXSW. For Colder Still, Kingsley Flood opted for a more urban landscape after previous recording sessions in Vermont, aiming to capture the passion the blossoming Americana act's raw, rootsy live shows. Not a bad plan, since Kingsley Flood were nominated for "Best Live Act" in this year's Boston Music Awards, which arrive November 20 at the Liberty Hotel.

The quintet also announced the support acts for the Lizard gigs, a New Year's Eve show in town at the Brighton Music Hall with Mean Creek and Freezepop, posted some additional tour dates, and offered up Colder Still's first single for free download, former NPR Song Of The Day "I Don't Wanna Go Home." Hump day ain't got shit on these cats.
