[mp3] Black Light Dinner Party shine once again on 'Gold Chain'
Anonymous Boston/NYC production quartet BLACK LIGHT DINNER PARTY is now three-for-three. After turning heads in January 2010 with the butterfly-synths of "Older Together," then again in August over the electric, loose-fused Mp3 of the Week "Small Boxes," the mysterious four today dropped a fancy new "Gold Chain" via Neon Gold Records.
The Brooklyn New York City boutique label, which launched in 2008 with Passion Pit's "Sleepyhead" 7-inch and has released electronic sweetness from everyone from Marina & the Diamonds to Penguin Prison to Yes Giantess, calls this sparkly new BLDP jam "eskimo-kissed." That's pretty good.
Why stop there? They go on: "Black Light Dinner Party drape a neon gold necklace over you that grows brighter as each verse piles on glowing sentiment upon sentiment, and if grown-up playground love could be encapsulated in four minutes of pop nirvana, this would be the soundtrack." November doesn't stand a chance.
