As previously noted in our Spring Preview issue, which highlighted new Boston parties from Vary Lumar, Death Ray Vision, and Big Digits, as well as this week's Editor's Picks: What in the name of IG-88 is a band named after a Star Trek reference doing releasing an album on Star Wars Day? On today, May the Fourth, maybe the Force will be with THE BYNARS, who drop a debut album tonight at Great Scott with Death Star dance parties in mind.

New single “How Does It Feel To Fall in Love?” is a frenetic synth-rock romp fit for Max Rebo's Band, and we bet it could even make Bossk shake it up in ways rare for such a stoic Trandoshan. Turns out we do need their scum.

"I completely forgot that May 4 was Star Wars Day!," admits guitarist Matt Jatkola. "We just had our own Star Wars Day [in February]. We got together at 7am and watched all 6 episodes. Even though our band name is inspired by Trek, we spread the love. Some say blasphemy -- we say chyeahright!"
