After a successful run with last year's Celtics anthem "Who Are We?" - well, successful for the song, at least - Cambridge heavyweights N.B.S. return with "Pats Music" just in time for the NFL playoffs. I don't know a damn thing about football, but I can tell you that this shit hits extremely hard.
Say what you want about latching onto sports teams, but it's clearly one of the best ways for Boston hip-hop artists to gain exposure outside of the regional and underground scenes. There's also the general plus that some of these team cuts - not all, but some - have been seriously dope (remember "The Razor"?).
Pass this around, and keep an eye out for opposing anthems. It's pretty ambitious to think these guys can take on all the New York rappers stacked behind the Jets, but you never know - they did embarrass Ice Cube and his awfully wack Lakers jam. Not to mention the fact that anyone who says they've always been a diehard Jets fan is completely full of shit.
