What the world needs now is Jarvis Cocker, and 2011 is already shaping up as quite the comeback year for the lanky Britpop legend and his Sheffield Sex City bandmates, Pulp.
Rumors of a Coachella appearance in April are rampant on the internets (or maybe just in my head), and Pulp have already committed to a couple of Euro festival dates (Spain's Primavera Sound on May 27 and Wireless Fest in London's Hyde Park on July 3). Now the Jarv has surfaced as the face and voice of sexy new single "Synchronize," the latest dance jam from Parisan production duo Pentile and Pilooski, collectively known (sadly) as Discodeine.
The track is out now via DFA Records and iTunes, and will be included on Discodeine's debut full-length, out across the pond on February 14 via Dirty/Pschent Records. Coincidentally, the album drops in Europe five days before the 15th anniversary of Cocker storming Michael Jackson's stage at the 1996 BRIT Awards.
The album will hit the states sometime in the spring off Pschent Music.
