Sept. 13: The Phoenix gets its 'Rock Shop' on

Mark your calendars -- the Phoenix will be well-represented at the next Rock Shop session, an informative monthly series from the Middle East and Pirate Promotion that drops knowledge on everything from how to own SXSW to getting your band on the radio. The next panel discussion is Monday, Sept. 13, as “Meet The Press” rounds up a fine group of surly writer- and editor- types who have no doubt been clamoring to share publicity secrets to all the 508 area code bands planning to attend.

I’ll be sitting on the panel, drink in hand most likely, alongside Phoenix contributor Luke O'Neil and former music editor Michael Brodeur. Some other music journos have been invited as well, making this a fine representation of Boston’s music coverage. However, a well-placed timebomb here tonight could suddenly make Northeast Performer the music authority in the city.

If there is no explosion or death toll, word is we’ll all get our sauce on at Tom Kielty's party at the Independent afterwards, so join us for that as well. First round on O’Neil.
