Au Revoir Bill's Bar?

In the interest of getting meaty chunks of gossip on the web as soon as possible - and not in the interest of doing a thorough, well-informed journalistic inquiry into the matter - we bring to you the news that Bill’s Bar on Lansdowne Street has reportedly closed down. FOREVER.

But we didn’t do a complete hack job. The Phoenix spoke with promoters and DJs behind the wildly popular Thursday night college drink-lots-and-fuck-in-the-bathroom-a-thon known as Campus, which was supposed to pop this week at Bill’s. But since they got notice early Monday that the jam would not be possible, it’s been moved to The Middle East (to the rescue once again).

Nobody will tell us why Bill’s Bar shut down - or maybe they just don’t know - but the rumor mill is churning something along the lines of: “It has to do with them turning Jake Ivory’s into a giant Irish pub.” Fair enough; but in that case we wonder why there are bands booked there through April.

Anyway…while reggae, metal, and all you other sorts of heads weep loudly and figure out where to relocate your rituals, those still looking to party this Thursday should log into Facebook and CLICK HERE for info on the Last Campus Ever - to which promoters are allegedly floating free rides in ice cream trucks. And - not like we need to tell you this - but feel free to add any rumors in the comment section below…
