Temporary detour: tonight's "THROWED" has been moved from Harpers Ferry down the block to Great Scott. It'll be back at Harpers' next month, supposedly with Andrew WK headlining. We'll say it again: "Throwed" next month with AWK at Harpers. Now back to this month. Back to tonight. Back to E-Marce, Redd Foxx and our dude David Day.

We’d like to apologize for what happened when we debuted Bang Camaro’s “Push Push (Lady Lightning)” back in June. It’s amazing what a little hyperbole (“mp3 of the decade”) and a catchy thumbnail description (“Polyphonic Spree meets Headbangers’ Ball”) can do in this town: all the sudden the band’s headlining awards shows and getting slapped on the covers of every fishwrap in town.

    1. You always wanted to be at that party where Charlie Brown throws down with Jim Jones. So if you haven't already, point your browser at Lemon-Red, who's come out of hibernation to upload a dastardly X-mas mix from fellow Lab scientists Snack and C'mish. Elf people stand up.

    IF YOU GO:

    THROWED
feat. Spank Rock, Chris Rockswell, E-Marce, David Day and !!!'s Justin Vandervolgen
    Harpers Ferry, Allston
    10 pm, 18-plus

Year-end lists won't reflect it (SORRY, DUH), but '06 was the year that PAPER broke through and turned hardcore's infamous "the kids" into non-rockist party-music ballers.

The most photographed dude at the party.

    Part I: Thunderdome
Our heads nearly exploded this weekend. First off, Thunderdome was like hundreds of people, seven or eight DJs, two floors, tons of sweaty asses, and one popular Moosehead. DJs wore antlers,Providence's Triangle Forest [see Miliard's post for mp3s] were way better than their obtuse name suggests, good streetwear went super-bad, and the downstairs dancefloor was so hot, the wall mirrors done gone foggy.

    IF YOU GO:

Clone yourself. We don't know what to tell you. Possibly you've already seen the Spank Rock DJ team and so can somehow justify missing XXXChange & Rockwell tear shit up tonight at Paper.

    MSTRKFT
    October 12 at Paper/Bill's Bar

For those of you who thought Paper was faded permanently into early-2006, MSTRKRFT (or at least a recognizable fraction thereof) descended on Landsdowne Street to restore the night to its glory-days program of sell-out crowd and stellar atmosphere.

No downloads yet from Stephen "Cave In" Brodsky's solo/band album The Octave Museum -- which HydraHead, at least, is treating as an album title, not a band name -- but songs are streaming at their MySpace page. It's the best thing he's done since Static Intellect, which never came out so we don't know why we keep bringing it up, except that it's real good.
