I DO, I DO, I DO, I DO, I DO
It won over the super-serious theater crowd on Broadway, and was enticing enough to woo super-serious actress Meryl Streep into joining its cast for this year’s silver screen version. MAMMA MIA! must be doing something right. The musical, built on Abba tunes, has a hokey premise: A woman is getting married on a Greek isle, and she wants her dad to walk her down the aisle. One problemo: her parents came of age during the free spirit days and she doesn’t exactly know who her father is. After reading her mother’s diary, she narrows it down to three dudes and invites them all. Bam: “Dancing Queen” and “Knowing Me Knowing You” are shot from a cannon.
