GG-1000x50

Last call for a good one going down at AS220 (401.831.9327) on THURSDAY (the 22nd) with makeupbreakup headlining (debuting new stuff from the forthcoming Scents LP) with THE BROTHER KITE, THE PRESS, and CELLAR DOVES ($6). The climactic SoundSession '10 weekend begins FRIDAY (the 23rd); head out and support some of Rhody's finest, including AUDIO McSWAGGER at the Black Rep, JESS POWERS (of Route .44), AFROSONIC COLLECTIVE and WUNMI at Firehouse 13, and a stacked bill at the Grant's Block stage downtown featuring THE COMING WEAK, THE 'MERICANS, THE COBRA-MATICS, and more.

And get your rest for the SS'10 finale on SATURDAY (the 24th); kick back with THE BOURBON BOYS, MISS WENSDAY, and JOHNNY CARLEVALE early, catch TRIANGLE FOREST headline at the ice rink, hop the parade trail with the WHAT CHEER? BRIGADE, then hoot and howl and help crown a beauty in Narragansett's Miss Hi Neighbor! pageant. More than 12 hours of live music and debauchery, so y'all pace yourselves and play nice out there.

Other Saturday options include SHARKS COME CRUISIN' and THE STATE LOTTERY at the Box ($5, 401.714.0832), BROWN BIRD and BROADCASTER play the 201 (401.454.4581), and Jerky's hosts an 18+ CD release party for rapper LINGO, with an extensive roster of local lyricists supporting (401.621.2244). What Cheer? Brigade strike again on MONDAY (the 26th) at the 201 with LIGHTNING BOLT (!), for the benefit of Nicole Reinert (21+, $8 donation requested at the door; if you can't make the show, donate at SupportForNicole.com).

A crazy-ass weekend like that calls for chilling out at the Speakeasy (at Local 121) on WEDNESDAY (the 28th) with ALLYSEN CALLERY (Hobgoblin's Hat is one of the year's best), and G.W. MERCURE of the Benedictions ($6, 401.274.2121).
