Honk! Festival
Somerville Theatre
The fourth annual Honk!
Festival - with more than two dozen "activist street bands " from around
the world, Bologna to Boston,
Rio (Olympics!) to Rome,
New Orleans to Seattle
- begins Friday in communities from East Boston to Chinatown and Dorchester. Saturday, they gather and play in Somerville's Davis Square from
noon to 9 pm. And on Sunday, with Bread & Puppet Theatre and a variety of
other arts groups in tow, they'll parade from Davis to Harvard Square (noon-2
pm), play the Harvard Square Oktoberfest (2-6 pm), and then return to Davis
Square for a blowout finale (8 pm-midnight) at the Somerville Theatre. It's all
free but for that final show. It runs October 9-11 | Somerville Theatre [Sunday-evening
concert], 55 Davis Square,
Somerville | 8 pm | $10 | www.honkfest.org
