Brokeback Mountain at Brattle Theatre
Brattle Theatre
Ang Lee won a Best Director Oscar and jerked tears from audiences across America with Brokeback Mountain
(2005), in which Jake Gyllenhaal and the late Heath Ledger play
lovesick cowpokes who move from homophobic Wyoming to San Francisco and
open a riding-apparel boutique. Or was that the alternate ending? It’s
part of a Brattle Theatre twin bill with Lee’s steamy and
underappreciated Lust, Caution (2007), which is about
sleeping with the enemy in Japanese-occupied Shanghai during World War
II. The Brattle’s at 40 Brattle St, Cambridge | $9.50 | 617.876.6837 or
