The Thomashefskys: Music and Memories of a Life in the Yiddish Theatre at Tanglewood
Boris and Bessie Thomashefsky were major figures in the American Yiddish theater of the 1920s and ’30s. But they were also Michael Tilson Thomas’s grandparents, and he and the BSO are celebrating them with a musical evening he’s put together titled The Thomashefskys: Music and Memories of a Life in the Yiddish Theatre.
Pat Birch directs and Judy Blazer, Neal Benari, Ronit Wildmann-Levy,
and Eugene Brancoveanu do the singing/acting honors, in Tanglewood’s
Ozawa Hall, 297 West St, Lenox | August 19-20 @ 8 pm | $20-$95 |
