Hasidic Judaism and hip-hop/reggae together? Oh that Matthew Paul Miller (a/k/a Matisyahu) is so wacky! He’s been grinding out consistent grooves since he broke onto the scene in 2005 with his monster hit “King Without a Crown.” And though his unique musical niche seemed at first a shtick destined for one-hit wonderdom, the Pennsylvania-born Matisyahu has made a career out of blending themes of faith with beatboxing, freestyle, and more traditional forms of reggae. He’s joined by Moon Taxi for the “Festival of Light” tour, which stops by the Paradise.
