Foals + Freelance Whales + Naked and Famous
Tonight’s WFNX-sponsored show features Foals, a quintet who dropped out of Oxford to play music. They’ll have you tapping your feet with their brand of driving, distinctly British indie rock marked by synthesized funk riffs and irresistible dance-rock rhythms. They’re joined by the Freelance Whales, Queens-based indie-poppers whose faintly creepy backstory involves personal ads on Craigslist. The Whales incorporate glockenspiels (we can never resist a good glock) and mandolins among their wide array of instruments, and that should provide an interesting foil to Foals.
