Tomorrow: Everything Is Terrible vs Found Footage Festival's "Computer Beach Party" [Saturday, May 1]

Everything Is Terrible! and the Found Footage Festival are perhaps two of the blog world's grandest purveyors of kitsch, both managing to capitalize on the general public's appetite for cheese. But they aren't lackadaisically posting episodes of Saved By The Bell. Rather, they take some pride in their work by dredging up some otherworldly clips that even the people who originally made them would probably have a hard time believing. Coincidentally, both sites have a traveling road show and both will be in the area on Saturday night, in Providence and Boston, respectively.

The self-proclaimed "lovable internet monsters" behind Everything Is Terrible! will be on hand at the Cable Car Cinema in Providence for shows at 7 and 9:30pm. Their website boasts an impressive collection of borderline creepy PSAs/news clips/remembrances of daytime television as a youth and they'll most likely be digging deep into the VHS crates for Saturday's show. Also, they seem to be advertising pizza, which is never a bad thing.

Following an appearance at the ROFLCon, members of the Found Footage Festival will be taking over the Coolidge Corner Theatre for a screening of "one of the worst sex comedies ever made," Computer Beach Party. They'll be offering up MST3K-esque live commentary, trivia games, and a number of other surprises. The film doesn't get under way until 11:55pm, so if you're up for a night of retro-induced LOLs and subsequent remorse for suspect fashion choices you may or may not have made (we're not here to pass judgement), you can try getting adventurous and hightailing it up to Boston following the EIT! gig.

i'm so late to this but the FFF guys are really annoying.  they have a habit of seeing themselves as stand up comedians, when in fact they are not.

wish they'd shut up and just let the stuff play

I see commenter "Dsmith" must be one of the Everything Is Terrible guys. Why so much hatred for your predecessors, dude? Also, I believe one of the FFF guys works for The Onion, so yeah, actually they are legitimate comedians.
