Last night the MassGOP held its elections for officers and national commiteeman and committeewoman. The big question was national committeewoman, as I blogged about recently. with current committeewoman Jody Dow stepping out of the race in favor of former Lieutenant Governor (and former MassGOP chair) Kerry Healey.
Healey did in fact win the vote last night over Chanel Prunier. In the other contested vote, Jeanne Kangas retained her position as vice-chair over a challenge from Steven Aylward.
Angela Davis of Foxboro was uncontested for the secretary position made open by the defeat of Cynthia Stead for re-election to the committee.
Healey and Kangas, along with national committeeman Ron Kaufman and new chairman Bob Maginn are all long-time Mitt Romney supporters, and are seen by some conservative activists as representing the "establishment" of the state GOP.
