This year, I scheduled a lot of activity during certain critical seasons, and this is the final class I'm teaching on astrology in the warm weather.
It's a useful class for those who need INSIGHT on when to move forward or stand still on the job. Customized for those who sign up -- do call Teresa and reserve a spot. This is a lot of fun for me to talk about and you can plan your next 6 months of projects.
I know there are two full moons this month...blue moon the second one? What's the story on conflicting info though about previous blue moons? I've read that the last one was in July of 2005 and then I also read it was Feb. 2004.
...in 20 minutes. I have to say, I like having my Llewellyn calendar in fron tof me with all the angles right there. Plus, the sun enters Gemini today, which should free things up for the air people. Gemini is one of those signs that can be scarily high-function while seeming totally fragmented. I've seen extremely dysfunctional and self-destructive gems, including a woman I used to know who probably had some kind of bipolar thing going on because she would fall deeply in love approximately every six weeks.
Last time I tried to do an entry I got one of those error messages so who knows what's up with that....
Why are Capricorns so hateable right now?
Isn't this supposed to be the YEAR of SAG? Why are Cappies getting their way all the time lately???
Dear Sad Sag
Hugh Grant arrested again. I have told ALL Virgo friends that April to mother's day would be a wowza. Lots of upsndowns, lots of stress and anxiety-provoking stimuli. Virgo is NOT the calmest sign in the zodiac -- all that pickiness has to find an outlet and Virgo's big challenge is living in a world where the standards of others do NOT measure up to their own.
I like him. Especially since Hank Stolz asked me what was going on way back in March and I in sleep-deprived state said he was having a vicious Mars opposition and every little thing he did was mud. At least that month. And that things would look up for him in April. Which they did! Score another for Symboline. july is his next tricky month but my experience (modest and frankly bizarre -- my father was a politico who came out for Ed King and had various patronage jobs in his post-newspaper days) is that the Statehouse is a relatively quiet place during the hot months, despite the building having some really wonderful naturally cool places due to smart architecture -- when, oh when did we forget to build smart? Anyway, quiet except for the scheming.
Every month I write the dark of the moon is the most dangerous time of the month -- accidents are more likely, and things that go badly, go very badly. It's been a fairly hideous news cycle and I really feel sorry for the students in Virginia. Every now and then our institutional problems and blind spots (not treating the mentally ill aggressively and compassionately, not having intelligent attitudes about firearms, an attitude which makes us unique among all developed nations, come together in a hideous cataclysm...
Here's the deal:
Mars in Aquarius square Venus means Mars and Venus are NOT happy with one another, making the Leo/Scorpio folks, or those with heavy influence in those signs more irritable.
I keep having to reorder calendars because, you know, people buy them and all that...Speaking of which, if you buy a calendar I'll throw in a sheet about how to THINK about those lunar phases that will make using the calendar as a text easier. Moon in Scorpio tomorrow so it's all "cut to the chase." Also, Hugh Norton of Norton Guitars is visiting and we hope he moves to this part of the world.
I have been using a ryder-waite deck that had always been in my room -- I mean, since childhood. I have no recollection of how it got there but it may have been a gift from the great Louis and Ruth Shepard. (Louis also gave me Edward Gorey's The Gilded Bat when I resumed dancing class at age 8, which was provocative and horrifying).
everything's moving a million miles an hour (okay, 17 miles a second) and the moon is still 240,000 miles away but this first quarter to full phase is a killer, isn't it? Good thing you can actually add hours to your day by taking them from the almighty sleep cycle. I'll be at Roots this Friday evening AND Saturday and will be on WTAG, 560 AM from 8 to 9 a.
When I do astrological tarot readings, I usually find the day has some kind of theme going on. Last time it was Virgo sun/Virgo moon people. Sometimes it's the same grouping of cards -- the 6 of pentacles is very popular no matter how many times things are shuffled. This week, the theme was Mars oppositions. If you're a Leo or have heavy Leo in your chart, take your health, sanity, environment, personal life very seriously.
I'm about to get very busy producing "Stratton Spring Break -- a Festival of short plays" out here but wanted to note the passing of the astrological year, and spring equinox. Unbelievable what the landscape looks like today vs. last Friday although Mr. Dai and baby dai and myself have been SKIING several times this week! There is absolutely nothing better (except ice skating on a frozen pond, snorkelling in the caribbean or biking down a hill."
