Romney Emerging as the Favorite of Social Conservatives
Townhall has this excerpt, detailing how Mitt Romney is now garnering the support of key social conservatives such as Bob Jones and Paul Weyrich. It's good news for Romney, obviously, and very bad news for Fred Thompson -- who had hoped to put together a similar base on the Right. It also means that the GOP race may already be slowly consolidating as a Romney vs. Giuliani contest -- unless, of course, one of the other candidates pulls an upset in Iowa or New Hampshire, or Giuliani just completely stumbles out of the gate -- doing poorly in a succession of early primaries.
