Did You Know There's A GOP Debate Tonight?

    The endless chain of debates continues with the GOP contenders gathering tonight in New Hampshire for Fox News. The big news in the debate is Fred Thompson's refusal to participate. Instead, he cheekily has inserted an ad during the debate and will appear on Leno tonight as he "officially" announces tomorrow.
    No one says Thompson has to appear at these forums but the way he's handled this -- as he's handled everything -- is a bit too clever by half. He hasn't eliminated himself from contention by a long shot but he better be really good on the trail and really really good when he appears in his first debate. Those are big hurdles.
