Fred Thompson to Formally Enter Race in July

    The Politico is reporting this morning that Fred Thompson will officially become a presidential candidate over the July 4th holiday. His entry will obviously have a profound effect on the GOP race -- an effect that, ironically, is the subject of this week's Tote Board column, written before today but out tomorrow.
