Joint Chiefs rival Muslim leaders in outrage over cartoons

Members of the Muslim world are lining up to condemn the Danish, yes, the Danish, because the government of the Scandanavian country known for its delicious butter cookies failed to reprimand a local newspaper for running a series of cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammed as a terrorist. The controversy has been raging for months and the death threats have poured into the paper. (US cartoonist Doug Marlette once penned a 'toon with the caption "What would Mohammed Drive?" over an Arab-looking character driving a Ryder truck with a Nuke sticking out of the back. He go threats as well.) But just when you were about to say "it's just a cartoon," the Joint Chiefs, yes, our Joint Chiefs, have sent a letter to the Washington Post reprimanding Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist Tom Toles for a cartoon depicting a US soldier with no arms and legs in a hospital bed and a doctor with a clipboard telling him "I'm listing your condition as 'battle hardened.'" "We cannot let this reprehensible cartoon go unanswered," reads the letter, which will be printed in Thursday's Post. Let's get this straight. Starting a war on false information and having no exit strategy is ok, but a cartoon...that's something that gets sand in their asses. You want to be outraged over a cartoon? How about Marmaduke? That cartoon is funny, like, never.

Now this is funny.
