Bradley Manning appeared in court at Fort Meade in Maryland this morning for the start of a pretrial hearing, to determine whether he will face a court-martial. Manning, whose 24th birthday is tomorrow, faces up to a lifetime in military prison for allegedly releasing hundreds of thousands of secret US state documents and national security secrets to WikiLeaks.

Occupy Boston held its first post-Dewey General Assembly on Saturday evening at the Boston Common bandstand. At Saturday's GA, a member of the Anarchist Alliance of Occupy Boston made a statement calling for neighborhood-based general assemblies throughout the winter.
Mayor Menino is giving Occupy Boston a midnight deadline to leave Dewey, or the city will "take action," reported Boston.com earlier today. Menino announced the midnight deadline today before a news conference at Fenway Park regarding a Red Sox celebration of the stadium's 100th anniversary. An emergency general assembly will be held at 1 PM today.

The city of Boston currently has no set plans to evict the camp, but Occupy Boston is urging supporters to convene at Dewey Square tonight in preparation for potential eviction.
Occupy Boston went to court today. The case -- Occupy Boston and Others vs. the City of Boston and Others -- ended with Judge Frances McIntyre extending the temporary restraining order currently prohibiting the city from evicting the camp at Dewey Square. McIntyre's decision is currently under advisement until December 15; until then, the restraining order remains in place and in full effect.
