NOT-SO-FOND FAREWELL

May 02, 2003| Joyce Millman bade adieu to the WB’s Dawson’s Creek.
“An era is about to end as one of TV’s most influential series says goodbye. And no, I’m not talking about Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This Wednesday...on the WB, Dawson’s Creek will have its series finale, after six seasons of tortured love geometry, high-school (and college) angst, smart-ass dialogue, and bad film-school pretensions.

Thanks to winter weather closing half the airports in the America, we headed out of South Station for Baltimore by Amtrak a few weekends ago. Train travel, in case you’d forgotten, is wonderful. Slower than planes sure, but from your total travel time you get to subtract the treks to and from airports, the hour (minimum) sitting in a waiting room at your gate listening to CNN blaring unwelcomely at your back with no representative of your carrier in sight, and the seeming eternities sitting on the stuffy plane on runways.

This came out last year, but we just had to tell you how excited we are about War on Terror: The BoardGame. According to the game's website, for 47 bucks, you get to:

The videotape unearthed by the Sunday Times showing two of the Sept. 11 hijackers smiling for a camera, offers clues to the motivations of the hijackers.
