The Women's Caucus of Occupy Boston -- a group of women-identified occupiers and allies working against patriarchy and sexism in the Occupy Movement -- will march this Sunday from 12 to 2 PM. The march will address the safety of women within the Occupy Movement and the ways that economic injustice disproportionately affects women, as well as health care, housing, education, reproductive rights, LGBT rights, the
right to paid parental leave, universal health care, and other related
About 40 members of Occupy Boston met in a working group last night at a Chinatown location to discuss strategy. The main topic of discussion: given that Occupy has a looming court date on Thursday, how should the Dewey Square tribe deal with a potential eviction? But 20 minutes into the discussion, the group interrupted proceedings to take a vote on a different issue: how they felt about having a journalist present.

If there's one thing everyone can take away from this it's that you should always, always
be sure your dingle-dangle is clean before using it. Nobody likes a
grubby dingle-dangle. Yep, we're talking about dicks. But
Thanksgiving isn't about the male genitalia, not really, it's about
being grateful for what you have (and the nationally celebrated genocide
of our country's indigenous people, natch).
If there's one thing I learned about the nation-trotting Occupy troll
Paul Carnes (a/k/a Paul Fetch) in profiling him last month, it's that
he's relentless. There's no limit to his schemes, and he seemingly
has no shame (we'll get there in a second, but Carnes is now suing
four individuals aligned with the movement for reasons you'd never
This weekend, after sleeping off the turkey, we here at the Boston Phoenix will be putting in a few extra shifts to begin the laborious process of clearing out the newsroom, which has been gathering dust, backissues, scribbled in-jokes, stuffed chipmunks, and Dukes of Hazard posters for a couple of decades.
Welcome to "Meet the Mayor," a segment in which we interview local Foursquare Mayors in

While bartending here,
how often do customers ask about your tattoos?Pretty much every day. I get a lot of "Is that you?" or "Is

You didn't hear it here, but not everything can be found on the Internet — peep the flyers tacked to the boards below to find everything from Allston basement shows to what bands are in town. That is, after you've scoured our music listings. (But we know you're already all over those.)
On November 17, hundreds of Occupy Boston and
MassUniting marchers (labor unions, community organizers; SEUI, Local
Ironworkers, Jobs with Justice, and more) took to the city streets again in
solidarity with another global day of action. Despite near freezing temperatures
and relentless rain, the troupe gathered at the Boston-side of the Charlestown Bridge, where the Ironworkers Union
mic-checked and announced a proposal for the city to repair the bridge -- giving
work to unemployed laborers.
Last night's GA promised to be extra involved, given Wednesday's court order prohibiting the city from evicting Camp Dewey until after a December 1st hearing, plus the letter unveiled yesterday revealing the Greenway Conservancy's request that the city to clear the camp. The majority of the GA was dedicated to choosing representatives to attend a court-ordered mediation between Occupy Boston and the City of Boston, Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, and Boston Police.
weekend marked the opening of the Pre-Vinylite Society's hand-painted
sign art exhibit in the Extension Gallery above Orchard Skate Shop in
Allston. And if you're familiar with the gallery's previous shows, you know they're good for some pretty amazing feats of art-ness.
The Pre-Vinylite group show, up now through December 9, showcases some
seriously rad signs and truly masterful hand-lettering.
At a general assembly tonight, Occupy Boston is debating what steps to take -- including potentially seeking an injunction against the city -- in response to a letter from the Rose Kennedy Greenway, dated November 8, that explicitly asks the city to have police remove the occupiers from Dewey Square. "After much thought and discussion, we have come to the conclusion that.
