Facebook URL Land-Rush Snubs Limbaugh. Sarah Palin, however, pulls through. #fb

When Facebook turned on its "username" generator at 12:01 am -- thereby enabling all people (and all product pages with more than 1000 fans) to claim a MySpace-y URL vanity shortcode -- it sparked what's sure to be one of the most ballyhoo'd interweb land grabs since those useless .mobi addys went up for sale. (Yeah, we know, we fell for it too.) Over 3 million usernames were taken in the first 24 hours. Not surprisingly, some big-name Republicans didn't bother to login over the weekend (or at all), leaving the field open to those darn liberas.

Big loser number one? The URL Facebook.com/Limbaugh went to . . . the Facebook "Telling Rush He's Full of Crap" page. Last time we looked, about 1800 people liked this turn of events -- which sounds like a lot until you realize that "Telling Rush He's Full of Crap" has over 70,000 supporters.

Not so for Sarah Palin, who promptly snapped up the Facebook.com/SarahPalin URL.

On the other side of the aisle, the President got his shit together on Day 1, as did Speaker Nancy Pelosi -- though we wonder whether Nancy, by not taking /nancypelosi, has left an opening for these people

For the record, facebook.com/cheney went to some random dude, and so did facebook.com/georgebush.

Land-grabbers note: http://www.facebook.com/newtgingrich and http://www.facebook.com/republicans are still open.
