R.I.P Bob Lazarus

Boston-based stand-up comedian Bob Lazarus succumbed to a near-two-year battle with Leukemia yesterday.

"Laz" got his start in the late 1970s, at the locally and nationally renowned Ding Ho Comedy Club in Inman Square, making a name for himself alongside fellow comic powerhouses Steven Wright, Denis Leary, Paula Poundstone, Lenny Clarke, Jimmy Tingle, and Bobcat Goldthwait.  Over the course of his multi-decade comedy career, Lazarus toured (often with Wright) clubs and colleges across the country, and made several television appearances on Comedy Central and Showtime. Film credits include Mystic River

Bob Lazarus was a pillar of the local comedy community, a husband, a father, a friend, and an outstanding human being. He was much beloved, and will be greatly missed.
