SIEGEL: Why I'm voting for Obama

Barack Obama is extraordinary in so many ways, but what convinced me about him long before he won the primaries is his ability to look at his own background in terms of the real world, and without recriminations. He doesn't allow himself to be projected as a demographic vote-getter, but his politics deal with a productive, multicultural future. He's the first politician in my experience to rethink the narrative instead of pleading with us to hang onto the stories of the past. I think we'd be privileged to have a leader like this.
