Letterman responds to McCain's cancellation

As you may have heard, John McCain suspended his campaign yesterday in order to be in Washington to deal with the financial crisis. Originally, he was supposed to go on the Late Show with David Letterman, but he canceled as part of that suspending of the campaign (fittingly, Keith Olbermann replaced him). Above, you'll see Letterman's various responses to the whole mess, which starts off reasonable and measured and becomes increasingly skeptical as the show goes on, particularly after receiving word that, rather than hopping on a plane back to Washington, McCain was in New York talking to Katie Couric on the CBS Evening News. In addition to being right on about this, Letterman also reminds us all that when he's motivated, he's still one of the best things going on television.
