Samuel R. Delany brought deep philosophical insights to his Hugo and Nebula
Award winners Babel-17
and Dhalgren while
also offering a unique point of view as a gay African-American. He talks about
these issues and more in Barney Taylor's documentary The Polymath, or the Life and Opinions of Samuel R. Delany, Gentleman (2007), which screens at the
Boston University Cinematheque, with Delany and Taylor in person. That's in
