    A few years ago I wrote a piece for our city’s tortured tabloid daily that asked if Boys Like Girls were the commonwealth’s “biggest” band. Despite a limited presence in Boston proper and the nightclubs people like me use to gauge popularity around here, they seemed to be cracking two prime, wholly traditional, markets: Top 40 radio and teens in the suburbs.
