A few hours ago a simple tweet from Amanda Palmer suggested the once-unimaginable: the female half of the Dresden Dolls went and got married, to British author and boyfriend Neil Gaiman. The couple apparently tied the knot last night in Northern California.
"Hey guess what we did last night (and this time it's legal)," read Palmer's cutline to the ceremonial tweet, posted this afternoon alongside the above, uncredited twitpic'd photo.
Break out the guyliner: the Dresden Dolls have announced a reunion, or a return from hiatus, or whatever the fuck you want to call it, to play two Boston shows on November 2nd and 3rd at the Wilbur Theater. They'll be playing their two studio albums in their entirety - the first night, The Dresden Dolls, and the second, Yes, Virginia
We're going to start this off with a huge tease. The biggest news
to come out of our interview with AMANDA PALMER can't be printed --
yet. But we'll let this much slip: you're going to be seeing a lot more
of her in the Boston area this fall, in a role you've never seen her play before, which may also be the role she was born for.
