Casey Desmond to appear on "The Voice" tonight

You are excused if you missed last week's premiere of The Voice, the Carson Daly-hosted attempt by NBC to suck the last gasp of life out of the fading American Idol model. But if Steven Tyler was Boston's excuse to tune into Idol, or at least capture the hyperventilating attention of our city's favorite tabloid, then tonight our music scene has a reason to suffer through singing critiques from judges like Cee Lo, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and uh, the guy from Maroon 5 who shagged everyone in Hollywood a few years ago.
