fucking ruled Monday night at the TD Garden. And seeing the Boss at half court,
separated by a few feet of staging and mat from the parquet floor where Kevin
Garnett and Paul Pierce sweat it out was doubly awesome.
Never showing his age, the
63-year-old Springsteen slid across the stage on his knees, jumped up on top of
the piano, crowd surfed, and gyrated his ass off like he was 19.
According to the New York Times -- and more specifically, to former Phoenix critic JON CARAMANICA -- that's affirmative. It's amusing to us that in 2012, anyone is still arguing about Bruce Springsteen lyrics. And maybe it's just a couple of dudes from the New York Times, Rolling Stone, and SPIN. But hey, rock-n-roll-future and all: if people are really going to get into a Twitter battle on Boss lyrics, we're sure as hell going to at least keep score.
In case you missed it, the World's 52nd Most Unsexy Man played the Garden last night. On the setlist? A fake-impromptu cover of the first-album ZZ Top classic "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide," as showcased above. Carina Mastrocola shot the shit out of it for us, and her photos are better than repeated viewings of Bosscocked
