Despite the creamy Brit-step center, today’s new Britney Spears single is some white-hot shit. With the help of hit-making co-producers Dr. Luke and Max Martin, “Hold It Against Me” is a lyric-punning electro club banger that at times sounds like a monster Designer Drugs remix. It’s got all the elements of a 2011 club hit, with razor-sharp electro rips, waves of magnetic vocal trance and yes, even that wobble-copter dubstep breakdown.
Maybe they really dug our slideshow from the first time Britney brought her Circus to town -- you remember, the one with her dancing in the lion cage? -- or maybe they just know how much we love that biotch. Whatever the reason, we've now got a pair of Britney tickets to give away, before you can even buy 'em.
Former Boston Phoenix staffer JAMES PARKER -- who now covers SpongeBob for some up-market liberal rag you may have heard of -- has been tapped for inclusion in DaCapo's DANCING ABOUT ARCHITECTURE WITH THE STARS BEST MUSIC WRITING 2009, an annual book-length compendium that's become, next to free Radiohead tickets, the rock critic's highest professional honor.

Well, first of all, some girl shaved her head to get in.
Which is nothing compared to the mayhem that greeted anyone trying to get the 7:10 train home out of North Station. Holy christ, dudes. We've seen some insanely anxious fans before, but never have we seen a concert audience shut down a major metropolitan transportation hub.
