We’re “Halfway to Hell” on a nonstop rock-and-roll train passing through the mean streets of nowhere, and VIVA VIVA is behind the wheel, steering us to the Middle East Tuesday night, November 27 for the Prince Children’s Education Fund benefit show. This latest cut from Boston’s most badass rock band is the closing track off recent EP Dead In Yr Tracks, another gritty romp through Boston’s darker rock underbelly.
Fresh off sharing the stage with the Kills and Black Bananas over the weekend at New York City’s Converse City Carnage, VIVA VIVA are back in town to shoot a “Dead In Yr Tracks” music video tomorrow night at the Middlesex Lounge’s Swerve IV dance party.
The band of rock and roll bandits recorded four tracks over two days last September at Converse’s Rubber Tracks studio, and the results will be released next month as a gate-fold double 7-inch off Boston indie label Fort Point Recordings
It's that time of year again. SXSW is ready to rock and roll, and once again, the Phoenix is all over it. In addition to our latest online tour diaries, detailing Liz Pelly's trek to Texas with Quilt and P. Nick Curran's road escapades in You Can Be A Wesley, we're sending eight writers and photogs to Austin next week to capture everything that happens.
