CONVERGE's latest record, All We Love We Leave Behind, was released last month to near universal acclaim (including props from me in the Phoenix). It’d be easy enough to go all Chris Farley Show about each track on the album, “Remember that part on ‘Coral Blue’... that was awesome,” but picking vocalist and artist JACOB BANNON's brain on running Deathwish, the demise of Hydrahead, corporate sponsorship of tours, Self Defense Family’s tumblr and his favorite Cro-Mags record was far more tempting.
Last week we dropped the axe on CONVERGE'S November 12 homecoming show at the soon-to-open Sinclair in Harvard Square, and today we have some off-the-record sounds to mark the inevitable chaos in store for Cambridge. The Massachusetts metalcore band today unleashed new single "Aimless Arrow" with this head-spinning music video in tow, the first track off October 9's upcoming full-length All We Love We Leave Behind [officially via Epitaph Records, with: a vinyl release on Jacob Bannon's Deathwish label + a 17-song Deluxe Edition complete with hardcover 48-page color-foil stamped hardcover book featuring Bannon's artwork + pre-order here]
We don’t yet even have a grand opening date for THE SINCLAIR, but we do know one night when the brand-spanking-new Harvard Square live music venue could be put on the concert map. That’ll be November 12, when the 525-capacity Cambridge rock club, slated to open around mid-October, will host a monster motherfucker of a bill: Converge, Torche, Kvelertak, and Whips/Chains
