Us Boston music writers need to find a new angle from which to cover Moe Pope, since that whole "most tragically slept-on act in the Hub" shit no longer applies. What we have here is an example of hustle plus skills paying off, as Moe and his crew have finally hit the forefront of the local music scene in the past few months.

This is a pretty big deal, Boston. Black Milk is kind of a miraculous anomaly in hip-hop, commanding respect from the lowest depths of underground notoriety to the cheesiest heights of commercial acclaim. He's the sort of double threat who cats like Kanye sweat so hard that their pants stink - an MC-producer who summons nostalgia from the best of both coasts, not to mention his own city of Detroit, which dude holds down like a crime boss.

I think it goes without saying that Edan is not just one of the most talented cats in hip-hop, but in all of music. His track and performance records speak for themselves; show me someone else who gets love from DITC and ATP.

So I felt it worthy of a blog post when I heard that he's in Boston tonight, and not just in his DJ capacity, like when I caught him for an interview at Good Life a year ago.

If I tried to write about every one of the 30-or-so rappers set to collectively slap Unity Fest at The Paradise next Thursday, I wouldn’t have time to fuck around on Facebook and Twitter all day. It would also be a waste of time considering how much I’ve already written about so many of the marquee artists.
