Here's something cool to do today while fucking around at your desk and counting the hours until your holiday break: watch a live stream of Sub Pop labelmates METZ and KING TUFF performing live at the Pitchfork.TV offfices in Brooklyn. (Watch the stream here starting at 12:30.) Both bands will play for about thirty minutes; King Tuff first, then METZ.
METZ rocked the proverbial casbah at the Middle East Upstairs so hard on Wednesday night that guitarist and singer Alex Edkins’ string broke about 30 seconds into the first song. “Rock and roll!” someone in the audience shouted, and it really was. Undeterred, the Toronto-based trio plugged right back into where they left off, drilling everyone’s eardrums into their heads with relentless noise.
