The Future of Music Coalition is a national non-profit music advocacy organization working for the sustainable future of music culture and creative communities. Within this context, each autumn, FMC hosts an annual summit discussing technology, law, and policy as it relates to the music world. Unlike "music industry conferences" like SXSW and CMJ, this summit is refreshingly unfocused on creating more profitable music industry business models -- and instead is focused on conversations about keeping music as a medium that is open and accessible to all.
That's pretty much the size of it, actually. As most of you are aware, this is not by any means the first time Amanda has tweeted n00dz. But this time the photo by one of our fave photogs, Kelly Davidson. And this historic milestone (in Palmer's tweet, "$1,000,000 OF PURE FUTURE ARTMUSIC ASSKICKING") was reached one day after she hosted a live webcast from the MIT Media Lab -- a place where, as she emailed us yesterday, "they might be able to build me technology to crowdsurf over fans while playing their hands as 'conductive' instruments.
