:: Here's today's BOSTON ACCENTS playlist, Tuesday, February 19, 2013, back in action after the three-day weekend. As always, you can listen online via WFNX.com, every day at 5pm EST.
BAD RABBITS “Fall In Love” -- We AVA'd this one earlier today, and added it into regular rotation on WFNX. American Love is our May 14.
Re-file this one into Awesome Everything Alert. Boston's BAD RABBITS -- and we say they're ours because it feels like they'll rightfully be everyone's very soon -- last week dropped a second single for new LP American Love, picking up right where "We Can Roll" left off. The Valentine's-Day-appropriate "Fall In Love" is another slow-burning banger ballad, another top-shelf strike of modern R&B that's primed for global recognition.
BAD RABBITS “We Can Roll” -- Brand new single from r&b/funk/rock/whatever band, playing Brighton Music Hall on New Year's Eve. We posted the video earlier in the day. This song fucking rules. Prepare for liftoff.
HOORAY FOR EARTH “Sails” -- If you're down in the New York area, HFE join Zambri, Cymbals Eat Guitars, and Grooms for a benefit for Red Hook victims of Hurricane Sandy next Thursday, November 29 at Pianos NYC.
Rabbits front man Dua had a pretty extraordinary New Year's Eve last
night, and not just because he crushed the hook for “Stereo Hearts”
with Gym Class Heroes on national television for an audience of
millions (seen above watching himself in complete disbelief).
hours before his big TV debut (which was taped a
few weeks ago in Los Angeles), Dua was arrested for having an
outstanding warrant in Chelsea (don't worry - it wasn't for robbing the place, as some of his past work may suggest).
It’s been quite some time since Audible Mainframe and Eclectic Collective used to regularly smash Harpers Ferry together. Those were the days; just ask the loose and juicy co-eds who used to come and throw their backs out.
But while much has changed, it’s all been in the name of progress. Over the past two years, Audible moved to Long Beach, and EC became Bad Rabbits.
No doubt it's obnoxious for me to remind you about today's Karmaloop bash at Beauty Bar. I mean - unless you're down with the king or started waiting at the venue first thing this morning - chances are you won't get into this one.
But if you wind up gaining entry this should be quite the inaugural blowout, with some serious Boston representation to boot.
It’s amazing how much hate mail I receive accusing me of ignoring local artists. Most hilarious is this ass on Facebook who recently bitched that I “write about the same people over and over.” He might have a solid point, if in the past year alone I didn’t pay significant attention to: Esoteric, Black Madeen, Bad Rabbits, Singapore Kane, Slaine, Boycott Blues, DJ Slim, JDO, M-Dot, Masspike Miles, D-Tension, The Berklee J Dilla Ensemble, Jaysaun, Will C, Amadeus, Rite Hook, WMS the Sultan, GWOP Gang, Wasted Talent, The Dunnas, Dawaun Parker, RADIx, Mr.
