Allston DIY Fest lineup announced

We'll most certainly have more deets on this in the pages of the Phoenix as the July date draws near, but here's a quick heads up: ALLSTON DIY FEST has released its 2012 band lineup. Looks pretty sweet on first glance -- everyone needs to see CreaturoS outdoors at least once before they die -- and this is certainly a fun way to spend a summer Saturday in beautiful and scenic Ringer Park in Allston. Twenty-seven bands in action, all doin' it themselves.

By the way, speaking of Allston, here a PSA for everyone from a longtime resident of (our) Union Square: the students are gone. The Bro Parades and Slutty Girls Night Out Brigades have all hightailed it out of town in their parents min-vans (nothing like out-of-town plates navigating Linden Street) and back to Bumblefuck, Ohio (or ... uh, Long Island) after this past weekend's Boston University and Boston College graduation ceremonies. Come on down to our 'hood -- there's plenty of parking along Brighton, Harvard, and Commonwealth avenues, mad open seats at Refuge Cafe, far less vomit on the sidewalks, and patio drinking opportunities pre-rock-show at Great Scott; it's as close to paradise as our lil' heavenly slice of Boston gets. Try us out during DIY Fest. You'll be glad you came.
