Wanna go for a Ride? Tonight on Boston Accents we had the honor and privilege of world-premiering the new NOFUCKINGWHERE compilation – 11 Boston bands reconstructing Ride’s classic 1990 shoegaze album, Nowhere. Huge thanks to compilation curator Jay Breitling of the Clicky Clicky music blog and William Scales of Soccer Mom for not only putting this together, but for also hanging out in the studio. You can download the entire comp for FREE come midnight Tuesday over at Clicky Clicky, and read our interview with Ride's Mark Gardener about Ride's legacy in this Thursday's Boston Phoenix.
Though most of tonight's show featured the compilation, we were still able to get a few new tracks in at the end of the show. If you're not terribly busy, feel free to hang out with us Thursday night at Church as the Phoenix presents Parallels / Casey Desmond / Bearstronaut / DJs Glass Teeth and myself, and tune in next week -- same time, channel, love affair -- as we welcome the noir-pop styling of Parlour Bells into the WFNX studio.
