Figured I'd drop through with some video before I venture off into the night. DANNY BROWN just won the day portion of South By. The likely contender for ultimate usurpation just exited the stage at the Fader Fort less than 30 minutes ago and had the crowd exasperated with a combination of shouting along and keeling over.
A bit earlier than that was MAIN ATTRAKIONZ at the Live For The Funk showcase. Less so because of rapping style than their physical style, the Oakland duo reminded me all-too-much of No Limit Records circa 1998. Strangely hued leather, boxers under the gym shorts under the jeans, and tags everywhere. They were less enviable than Brown, if only because they trend much closer to the mainstream aesthetic of hip-hop, concerned far more with getting the crowd buck than perfection.
And lastly, and most earliest, was TEENGIRL FANTASY. They have a grip of equipment and took quite a while to set up and were punished for their delay with a timeslot that was basically chopped in half. I know they have much more in them, so I think I'm going to make the effort to catch them again. As in 20 minutes from now. Until tomorrow.
