All in the family: Boston Phoenix music editor launches Vanya Records tonight at Great Scott


We try to keep the horn-tooting to a minimum around here, but we'd be remiss if we didn't give a heads-up about Boston Phoenix music editor and WFNX local-music host  MICHAEL MAROTTA's foray into the record business. Operated out of his bedroom, VANYA RECORDS was launched to put out a limited-edition 7-inch by local synth-pop heroes BEARSTRONAUT. Tonight the yellow-vinyl platter for "Moniker" gets its official unveiling at Marotta's long-running indie dance night THE PILL at Great Scott. The label owner is far too modest to post about his shit over here, but we're far too proud not to. Sample below:
