Hey everyone! It’s Sam the Intern, and I am back in my homeland after a rowdy summer in Boston. Why did I leave Boston? I honestly have no clue! But it’s partially because I went back to the University of New Hampshire to work on my degree in journalism. While I’m here, I’m acting as the Phoenix’s out-of-town correspondent, covering all the cool local New Hampshire shows and bands while I attempt to finish college.
Ok, two things of note going on in Central Square tonight, on both sides of the musical spectrum...
Over the past month or so we've been pretty hot on that monster GREY VALLEY GHOST track "They Way We Kill," naming it our current Mp3 of the Week and giving the zesty alt-rock ripper a few spins on WFNX, both on the morning Breakfast Show and Sunday nights on Boston Accents
Been a while since we posted an Awesome Video Alert, but this new clip from metal dudes BRING THE KNIFE easily makes the cut because it's a bunch of familiar Boston faces lip-syncing two otherwise brilliant words that get all next-level when said together: "Werewolf" and "Fuckdown."
The cast also chips in to assist front man Duncan Wilder Johnson with the rest of the lyrics, but really, it's the "Werewolf Fuckdown" part that get us all warm and fuzzy inside.
It's a Labor Day edition of Boston Accents -- and the first one with me in the pilot seat. Woo! Tune in to WFNX 101.7 FM every Sunday night for the best in New England-bred rock and pop, as well as local show news, notes, and my usual ragtime bullshit sessions.
Fiends in Human Shape - "Death Won’t Find You," off debut EP We Will Burn The Very Heavens; performing live at T.
