I don't even know where to begin with the new video from HOORAY FOR EARTH. Honestly, this "True Loves" clip, which premiered today on P4K, might be the best music video since god-damn "November Rain." NOVEMBER FUCKING RAIN. It was created by Young Replicant, a Los Angeles- based production team of directors Alex Takacs, Joe Nankin, and Hermes Trismegistus. You may recognize their incredible work with Baths and M83.
But this is just next-level. Of course, I've watched it a dozen times already and I have no idea WTF is going on. A few minutes ago I received a text message from You Can Be A Wesley bass master and Phoenix contributor P. Nick Curran that read like this, which sums it up nicely:
Nick: HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEW HOORAY FOR EARTH VIDEO BECAUSE HOLY SHIT
Me: For serious.
Nick: It just made me so happy.
Nick: I want all of that. I want to be chased across a desert by a beautiful, deadly woman with a bow and jump through a dust portal and wake up on a beach. Fuck.
Hooray For Earth's True Loves is out June 7 off Dovecote Records. Massive.
