Perhaps one of the more unexpected surprises at last weeked's Coachella Valley Music & Arts festival was the stellar effort put forth by Dutch Danish electronic music producer and multi-instrumentalist TRENTEMOLLER, who livened up the Mojave tent -- the same spot that Cut Copy destroyed two days prior -- with a full-band platform of organic dance sounds, an engaging and interactive progressive house set, and a steady stream of cool, collected energy. At the same time, spread across the Empire Polo Club grounds, were soon-to-be-talked-about-and-tweeted performances by Foster the People, the National, and Duran Duran, but for proper dance heads the Mojave tent was the place to be (side note: it often was, hosting Ratatat, the Presets, Robyn, Cold Cave, Sleigh Bells, Yacht, and others, over the course of the weekend).
Tonight, however, the place to be is Royale, where the Together fest wraps up their week by teaming up with Bowery Boston and giving us a taste of the Trentemoller experience. Monday is the new Saturday, so be sure to roll up early and catch our local boy Coralcola, who no doubt is in a great mood now that the Bruins stopped sucking. He might even break out some happy hardcore as a result. Blame Nathan Horton.
