I'm a few weeks overdue for writing about the new Viceversah and Aztech projects, which are unrelated in every way other than that they've both been aggravating my neighbors for a minute now. It's not the first time that these two have hit me off - they've both been sending over mixtapes since before the Bean rap scene got taken over by MCs in flip-flops.
These are both artists I'll be profiling sometime this year, as they represent a tangential generation of Boston rappers who are getting interesting burn outside the city. In his part, Vice has been rocking in New York and beyond for years now, while Aztech is making moves out in Korea.
For now, check the new Vice record, Shine Not Burn (produced entirely by Arcitype), as well as Aztech's In Due Time Vol. 2 (handled by Reel Drama, and stacked with killer cameos). The difference between them is about the same as the difference in their videos - whereas the latter is Silence of the Lambs-basement dirty, Vice spits somewhere between the corner and the club.
