VIDEO: Amanda Palmer writes song defending Lady Gaga in the style of Neutral Milk Hotel

Someone's in love with Lady Gaga. 

We awoke this morning to new YouTube-age from Ms. Palmer entitled "Gaga, Palmer, Madonna" in which she sings a defense of Lady Gaga that will likely be as good or equal to any of the year-end-list appreciation posts that'll be going around next week. Of course, it's also an excuse to insert herself into the same sentence with a couple of artists who are way out of her league. Our friend, the Gaga-ist and Palmer-ist Daniel Brockman, who sent us the link, probably put it best: "Is this awesome or ooftastic? Both, right?" Right. A couple of our favorite lines:

"Art is great, that way you can do anything.
You can make pop music, you can make doves.
But if you're a pop star, and you're a woman,
then it's much more likely that people will say your art sucks."

"Some art is focused on love and simplicity
Some art is focused on fashion and fame
Then sometimes some artists try to do everything,
which is impossible. I think those people are brave."

"This song took less time to write and record
and post straight onto YouTube than writing a blog.
